Take Me Home

RMB Private Bank Petro Card holders receive automatic Take Me Home services underwritten by EuropAssistance, which provides a designated driver service when you need to get home safely.

Take Me Home drivers are equipped with a cellphone and will safely transport you within 50 km radius of city centres in Durban, Johannesburg, Pretoria, Cape Town, Port Elizabeth, East London and George.


  • Bookings are open until 02: 00, not 01:00
  • Available to each Petro Card holder and up to a maximum of two of your guests collected from a single pick-up point and transported to a single drop-off point.
  • In the event where you own a larger vehicle and can seat more than 2 guests, additional passengers will be accommodated for provided there are seatbelts for all the passengers in your car.

Operating Hours

Bookings are open until 01:00, seven days a week. The Call centre is open 24hours, but this is an evening service so the first booking time for a pick up starts at 17:30 and last booking time is 01:00 in the morning.

Peak Periods & Public Holidays Off-Peak Periods
Please book at least 48 hours in advance where possible and up to no less than 2 hours in advance in case of last minute arrangements. Peak period times are Thursday evenings to Sunday mornings as well as public holidays (the night before and on the day) and in some instances major public events that occur within the service area, for example sporting events and concerts. Please book at least 1 hour in advance. Off-peak times are Sunday evenings to Thursday mornings.

Additional Charges

  • If you exceed the number of total covered trips, you may continue to use the service at a charge of R450 (excluding VAT) per trip.
  • If your trip exceeds 50km, payment for the additional distance will be billable directly to the designated driver on site.


  • Bookings can be cancelled up until 60 minutes before the arranged collection time.
  • Any booking cancelled within 60 minutes of the collection time will be deducted from your total covered trips or billed at full rate.


  • To make a booking contact Take Me Home on 0861 643 278.
  • Provide your Linked Petro Card Number.
  • Specify your pick-up point.
  • Specify your destination drop-off point.
  • Provide a primary and secondary contact number.
  • Provide the registration number, make and colour of your vehicle.
  • Once a pick up point has been arranged. Take Me Home will notify you when your driver has arrived. You have 15 minutes to meet your designated driver and begin your trip home.

Comprehensive Global Travel Insurance

This innovative service gives travel ticket holders Comprehensive Global Travel Insurance, if you purchase international or local travel tickets with your RMB Private Bank Cheque or Credit card. You will enjoy the benefits of travel insurance at no additional cost for the first 90 days of your journey and have access to a 24-hour international emergency service while travelling.

It includes up to R10 million for medical expenses and up to R2.5 million personal liability cover, as well as providing cover against personal accidents, cancellation, travel delay, lost, stolen, or damaged luggage.

In the event that you want additional cover over and above that provided by Comprehensive Global Travel Insurance, you can purchase RMB Private Bank Optimum Options Cover. The free insurance and our Optimum Options Cover are for passengers up to the age of 70.

AA Emergency Roadside Assistance

Enjoy free AA Emergency Roadside Assistance* on your RMB Private Bank Petro card linked to your Credit Card.

This includes a roadside repair service, which covers emergencies such as re-fuelling (up to five litres), restarting a flat battery, changing flat tyres and a key lock-out service to the value of R250.

Tow-in Service*

Mechanical or electrical vehicle breakdowns up to a maximum of R1000.

If the incident occurs more than 100 kms from your home, you can make use of one of the following courtesy services, up to a maximum value of R500:

  • Car hire
  • Overnight accommodation for you and four other passengers
  • Transportation (or the cost covered) for you to collect the repaired vehicle
  • Stand By You: request this service when your car breaks down and an armed security guard will stay with you until the AA patrolman arrives. In addition to personal protection, this service reduces the risk of hijacking and vandalism whilst you're on the side of the road.

How do I make use of AA Emergency Roadside Assistance*?

  • Call 0860 70 60 50 and give the operator your Petro Card number (16 digit number printed on the card)
  • An AA appointed contractor will be sent to provide you with assistance
  • The AA appointed contractor will ask you to produce your Petro Card and proof of identity
  • AA Emergency Roadside Assistance is subject to terms and conditions (included in the RMB Private Bank Credit Card terms and conditions)
  • Login to your personal Online Banking profile from 8 August to view updated Rewards information (your Rewards are allocated by the 8th of each month, based on the previous calendar month)

*If you are involved in an accident, the AA will arrange for your vehicle to be towed to the nearest AA-approved repair centre or to a destination of your choice, but please note that the cost of this will be for your own account.

How do I register?

  • Logon to your Online Banking profile, select 'Accounts'.
  • Then select 'Instant Solutions' on the left hand side of screen.
  • Choose either Instant Accounting or Instant Financial Management.
  • Click the button "Log off and access Instant Accounting or Instant Financial Management".
  • Accept Terms and Conditions.
  • Click the button: Create New Profile.
  • You will be directed to a page, where you can set up entries for your business and/or personal financials. Further options, instructions and help are available on-line.
  • Within a few minutes you will be able to see your categorised transactions, adjust category assignments, and view reports and graphs of your business and/or personal financials.
